Bwaise Muslims Get Ramadan Goodies From Ruparelia Group

The holy month of Ramadan is a period of giving and sharing love and that is what Ruparelia Group, through its subsidiary Premier Recruitment Ltd, a company that connects Ugandans to well-paying jobs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, did when it donated food to a Muslim community in Bwaise, a Kampala suburb.

Sharifa Nanyombi who works for Premier Recruitment Limited said the delivered bags of rice, sugar, kilograms of meat, jerry cans of cooking oil and other edibles to help Muslims break their fast at iftar.

Sowedi Siraje Wasswa, an imam at one of the mosques in Bwaise and received the donation, said almost 400 people break their fast at the mosque. They cook 80kgs of rice every day and use 10kgs of sugar for every iftar meal.

“Muslims in this community extend our appreciation to our brother Rajiv Ruparelia who has given us iftar to break the fast. Muslims in this community who break their fast in this place are very many,” Imam Wasswa said.

He said that as a community, they tried to fundraise but what they achieved is not enough. Imam Wasswa pleaded for more support from well-wishers. “We are almost 400 people therefore the need for help is still great. As a community we fundraised but it is not enough because we are very many,” he explained.
